What Is AI?

Completed Jun 23 - Jul 5, 2026

Dastan learned the basic difference between AI, chatbots, and AI agents through a concrete project. He chose volcanoes as the research topic, helped build and revise a student-safe volcano study-guide website, approved published versions after safety checks, and finished with an interactive presentation deck.

Learning Outcomes

  • Explained that an AI agent can follow a goal, use tools, build artifacts, and check work.
  • Collected and revised volcano facts in student-friendly wording.
  • Learned project versioning: version, deployment, rollback, major/minor/patch.
  • Saw how research notes can become a website and a presentation artifact.
  • Reviewed visual improvements and connected them back to the science explanation.

Progress By Date

Week 1 project direction was approved: use AI to help make a simple study guide while allowing Dastan to choose the topic.

Dastan answered volcano research questions, chose Mount Fuji, selected safety tips, requested citations, and moved the work toward a website artifact.

Dastan requested richer version-2 improvements: popups, sound, mini-video explanations, and a 3D/fallback volcano model.

Volcano version 2.0.1 and the interactive presentation deck were completed, reviewed, deployed, and verified.

Week 1 was closed as completed when Week 2 Career Explorer was set up.

Next follow-up: use the volcano presentation for a short explanation practice when helpful, but move the main curriculum forward to Week 2.

Week 2 is set up but not yet completed. The focus is to explore modern jobs, understand role nature, compare starter salary ranges, and connect jobs to university faculties or degrees.

Target Outcomes

  • Explain the difference between a job title, an industry, and a university faculty.
  • Compare jobs by daily work, work style, useful school subjects, salary range, and degree path.
  • Choose a top 3 career curiosity list and explain why those roles are interesting.
  • Practice source checking for fast-changing job and salary information.

Career Explorer Starter - draft

Progress By Date

Master Optimus requested Week 2 career exploration. Ziv created the Week 2 curriculum, updated current plan/state, and built a starter Career Explorer project site with 18 roles.

Next follow-up: ask Dastan to choose 3 interesting roles from the Career Explorer site and explain one role in his own words.
